Communal Dining
All of the meals at Shaka are prepared by our chef, José Muñoz, using locally-sourced produce. Before your morning surf session you'll enjoy a delicious sunrise snack of fresh fruit and granola, returning to a hearty dish of a typical Costa Rican breakfast such as gallo pinto, omelettes, tortillas, and banana pancakes, among others. For dinner, you'll be served a daily special using fresh fish, poultry, meats, and locally grown vegetables.

If you have specific dietary restrictions, please let us know upon booking, and we'll do our very best to accommodate. At the moment, we cannot cater to a full keto diet.
On Saturday, we close the kitchen for the night, allowing you the opportunity to sample one of the local restaurants in either Hermosa, or a short taxi ride away in Santa Teresa. There are options for every taste and budget; ask us about our favourites!

Unlike typical surf retreats, you can check into Shaka any day of the week, but keep in mind that on Saturday nights, our kitchen is closed, and that surf lessons are Monday through Saturday (*Sunday lesson for those arriving Saturday and missed that day of surf)
Arriving on a Saturday? Most weeks, the groups heads out to dinner together, so the team will already include you on any reservation made! Want to set something up prior to arrival? No problem, let us know during booking and we can take care of everything.
